I just did my first coat of fiberglass work ever, and i am pleased with the way it looks...the only thing is that it is not drying fully.  i have read that this happens when not enough hardener is added to the resin mix, which makes sense.... is there any way i can fix this?  i thought about just doing another coat of mix with more hardener and just speading it thin over everything again....i used more then one batch of mix and it seems to be that the poor mix that was in contact with the good mix did in fact dry normal..it is just the stand alone poor mix that is still very tacky.... imput or a signal to go ahead and ditch the cloth completely would be good...i really dont want to start from scratch tho, if at all possible

depending on weather it will eventualy dry, try buying a heat lamp to help it dry faster.   as far as starting from scratch it all depends on how long you have to complete the project, if you have unlimited time go ahead and let it dry and continue, if time is limited you might be better off starting all over again and using the correct amount of hardner.   as far as putting another coat over the (not dry) all ready existing one, i dont like doing this since it leads to bubbles that weaken the integrity of the box/panel.

it has dried....the time it spent overnight was in my garage with little air flow. i think that may have had the worst effect on it.  in an attempt to fix the problem i place the box on its pedistal outside.  it is an overcast day so i didnt have to worry about it getting too hot, but there was a comfortable breeze going that helped it dry faster.  it is almost completely solid now.  i just wanna give it a little bit of time to make sure it is solid before i do another layer.

the problem i ran into with some door panels i glassed was that the hardener/resin mixture wasnt good enough, so i gave it a few days to let it set up a little more, even though still tacky I mixed another batch a little hotter than normal and layed it over, dried in mintues and sanded well. i usually like to keep my dry time pretty slow, saves on sanding, it kinda self levels better than a hotter mixture, but i guess the first one wasnt enough hardener. oops, my bad. guess thats what i get huh. good luck in the future.
possibilities are limitless. if you can think it you can do it.
