new hu 2002 mitsubishi diamante

I am trying to hook up a stereo in my brothers 2002 Mitsubishi Diamante. When I pulled the cd player out I noticed that the harness only had I think 5 wires. It also has the round plug with 6 pins I think that must go to the amp in the back. Is there an adapter for that round plug to go into the cd player with rca's or do I need to bypass the amp or use in line converter.

I was also wondering why it has 2 plugs in the back that look like the normal fm plugs. One must be for fm but im not sure of the other. There is also another small harness that just has 1 wire, is that the turn on for the stock amp?

When you say "2 fm wires" do you mean antenna plugs?  If so, it may have diversity antenna in the back window like the older ones did.  Just use the bigger antenna plug.  I haven't worked on a 2002 model but it may be the same as the older ones.

Yes the "2 fm wires" I am talking about are the antenna plugs, I will just use the bigger one.

As for the speaker wires I thing they all run off the amp because none of them are in the harness for the hu. I imagine the round plug with the 6 pins in it goes to the amp but I dont have a way to convert that to put it in the new cd player. Thanks for the quick response
