I thought i had this one all figured out. Everything i have read said the 530 supported dual zone i.e different audio for the front and rear. I have it connected to an alpine overhead and i ran the video out to the unit and i have video. I did not run any audio because the plan was to run the dvd to the rear and use a different source for the front. All other systems and operations work as advertised except the rear audio. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I looked around the forums for a new member introduction but did not see one, so i assume this forum is all business. Just to give a quick run down, i am a prior MECP first class installer but let it lapse a long time ago when I joined the Marine Corps. I am an F/A-18 mechanic and have been active duty for just about 10 years. I have been out of the industry for quite some time, i have only kept up by doing simple jobs for guys i work with. Hopefully someone can shed some light on something i may have missed, probably a basic mistake but were all human right!

hi,
i'd guess that the rear zone audio is present on the aux out (when enabled of course). it isn't available to the rear speakers. also page 27-28 of owners manual under rear selection function states use of optional monitor and headphones...which would be connected to the aux out as shown on installation wiring diagram. so connect aux out audio to the audio in of the overhead monitor.
