Hi, recently purchased a universal power window kit for my 95 volkwagen golf 3. Hooked everthing up quite easily, then found that the windows move very slowly and get stuck half way up. Serviced all the manual regulators, still no joy, this kit did not come with relays. When I connect my jumper cables direct to the motor the windows go up fast and with much torque but with the normal wiring harness it just battles and stops half way up.
Any ideas on how I can overcome this?
Any assistance will be appreciated.
Thanks

Sounds like the usual problem - motor current too high for too long & too low wire gauge and probably thru poor switches.
Tho my motors are only 2-3A (peaking at 8-12A when jammed), I use SPDT micro-DIN relays.

Go to the thickest red cable feeding the right hand under dash fusebox.
If you must wire through ignition rather than constant use ignition 2 I believe BLACK / YELLOW to trigger a relay sourced from that thick red.
If this is a Spal kit then the wires will be of the correct gauge.
Can't say any more, all UK vehicles came with power comfort close windows and locks.

Hi Chev 104275
Autospy kit purchased for 4 doors complete with switches, looks identical to the spal kit.
How would I go about upgrading the power feed ?
Thanks

Is this Chinese?
If so change all the cables for thicker gauge.
I've already shown you how/where to upgrade the power feed.
Constant 12V+ powered, from the fuse box, you have at least two unused Lucar (6.4mm spade) terminals or ignition controlled use a relay from ign 2 (access again at fuse box) and source the relay (constant) from same.
Now that's twice and I've even given you location and colours.
