I have an after market set of DRL's that I have fitted to my S Type. But the trigger wire that dims the DRL's when the car lights are on will only produce a permanent live from the car lights. Am I correct that the jaguar lights are negative switched and if so how can I produce a switched live from the lights.

if you want to turn a switched negative into a switched positive all you need is one standard SPDT(single pole, double throw) relay. the relay has five terminals to connect wire to and you will only use four of them. you will connect a constant 12v power to terminals 87 and 86, connect your daytime running lights positive wire to terminal 30, and connect a wire from the factory wire that you believe is the switched negative to terminal 85 of the relay. also you should spend a little more money on a relay that has a built in diode between the 85 and 86 terminals to protect your car against voltage spikes caused by the relay.
