Ok. So I am installing this monitor in the rear seat without an aftermarket headunit to control or feed video signal to it. I called alpine and they said you dont need to hook up the foot brake and the hand brake wires. Since its in the back. I was able to hook up the 12v+ and ground wire. Which give power and turn the unit ON. But heres where it get stupid. I get the video lockout. It wont let me access the Setting Menu. I get the "operation not allowed while driving" and the "video off for your safety"... called alpine and they wont tell me how to fix it. They told me to bring it in to an authorized dealer and have them installl it since I will have to sign a waiver. Although, he did hint that there is only 1 wire that need to be hook up. But wont tell me which wire. Or where to hoom it up to. To 12v+ or to Ground?
I even bought the pac tr7 bypass module, unable to use it because there is no Remote out signal wire to use. Tried to supply it with 12v+.. still dont work. Then email pacaudio.com and they say, the tr7 are for headunit only. Dont need it for stand alone monitor.
So what now? I dont want to fry the monitor by giving each wire power to test. Anyone know which wire alpine is talking about?

A parking brake is negative in polarity. A foot brake is positive in polarity.

Not required. It was preprogrammed for alpine. Which does work because I have the same tr7 in my other car with an alpine dd unit hook up to it.

So what does that mean? Do I supply a 12v+ to foot brake and Ground the Parking brake? Is that all? Some how I think there will be more to it then just that. If I do the above then there is no need for the pac tr7 correct?

There is a sequence that has to be performed on the Alpine units. The sequence is as follows. Press and Hold the footbrake, engage, then disengage, then engage the parking brake, leaving it in the engaged position, then release the footbrake.
