I'm installing a pioneer ND-BC6 camera in my '04 Ram 1500 wired to a pioneer AVH-x5500BHS. I was wondering which wire was the best to use for the red power wire to the camera? I have a wire from the PURPLE / white wire on the radio that was going to be powered from the tail light power to activate the power while in reverse.I want the option to turn it on while not in reverse which is an option so i was wondering where i can get my 12v acc power from? I was thinking the cig lighter next to the radio but does it draw too many amps? I am a newb so all the help i can get i will take. thanks in advance.

A backup camera has minimal current draw. Your Cigarette lighter will handle the load.
