I have been installing audio for a million years. I have never had an issue taking anything apart or tackling difficult tasks! for some reason im not sure if im getting too old or if the vehicles are just getting more complex.
I have a base model 2014 Impala with the smaller display radio, I removed as much around the display as I was comfortable with considering I could see in there pretty good yet I did not see anything that looked like an AMP.
My last resort will be to tap into the rear door speaker wires. I would much rather get it right at the module so I could even use a relay to provide me ignition source.
Anyhelp would be Greatly apprectiated!

If you are working on a new design Impala's, then you can only get audio after the amp. It is in passenger side trunk. The radios on the newer GM radios is unlike anything you may have seen before. All audio and controls are multiplexed on two data lines. You cannot get anything at the radio.

I don't have an amp on the drivers side trunk. The passenger side looks like a bcm.
I'll doodie a pic when I pull over
This is a 2014 new body style.

I didn't have time last night to mess with it. When I first played around and pulled a plug on that module I ended up with a check engine light. I'll look again now that I have a list of wire colors.

Thanks so much! When I first looked at the box I only saw the big bcm styl plug.
Where did you guys get the wiring info. I'm trying to find other wiring like the led drl. Trying to figure out if it's pre wired.
