Hi everyone! Love what you've done with the place. I am relatively new and I have a question is regards to the stereo in my car. It is an old late 70's model boman stereo am/fm cassette player. In terms of function it leaves something to be desired. That something is the volume. I have recently purchased new speakers for it. 2 6x12's and 2 4x6's and this thing just does not get very loud. my engine is a 350 so its noisy but its not like its a jet engine. i would say that the volume that it puts out is comparable to a 6 out of 10 for a newer head unit's volume. Is there anything outside of buying a new stereo that would increase my volume, whether is opening up this bad boy and fiddling with the "things" inside or what have you. I really like the cassette player and look of this thing. Id like to keep it. I dont have the model number on me but i can get it tomorrow if it helps at all.
sincerely,

Have you considered simply adding an amplifier?

You didn't mention what vehicle, but I am assuming it is for an older car. If you want modern electronics/features but an old look take a peek at custom auto sounds and a few other brands. old bowman car stereo volume -- posted image.

Thank you for the replies. I do appreciate it. I must be slow because I never even considered an amplifier. that would certainly do the trick but I think I may look into deeper the old style look with what you mentioned.

Sorry, you can NOT post a reply.
