I tried that that way and it failed again. I used a relay and its been working fine for 3 hours now, I'm arming/disarming and turning the ignition on to simulate driving every hour and no false alarms yet

Good, actually I forgot the relay trick! Only used it once because it was cheaper to go with the diodes!
The relay coil can't be overcome by the "spike" when the system self tests.
This was always a problem with Clifford and later DEI products, entry triggers were too sensitive.
The other trick was a "strapdown" resistor, 10k between the trigger wire and 12V+
You must leave the car standing and alarmed about 30 minutes before completing the test.

I suppose I never had problems because the vehicle it was based on(the British Ford Mondeo = 500 later Fusion), was extremely common, I did loads of them between 2000 and 2007, thrashed out all the problems and wrote the how-to for Clifford by 02.
