yes i was just about to say... i ran up against this same issue when i was a lot newer to alarms and remote start and had this issue with an impala around the same year. the customer had a regular steel key and it started the car just fine so i told the customer that he didnt need a bypass... wrong... the immobilizer works off of the key cylinder not off of the key itself so when you are installing a remote start you will still need the necessary bypass module to get through the factory immobilizer

Thanks to everybody that replied to this post, it was very useful, yes the vehicle does have the immobilizer in the cylinder not in the key, so got a blade al from idatalink, flashed it with the correct software and the installation went smooth... took me 2 hours from start to finish, felt good to do it myself, but again I could not have done it with the help of everybody in this forum, so again THANK YOU EVERYBODY for the help.....
