We did not add subs, just changed the 4 speakers, which by the way the factory drivers did not even have a whizzer cone. No tweeters, just a 6.5 inch driver that did pretty good for not having a chance at producing upper frequencies.
Sounds acceptable with the new drivers, but when you power the car up with no volume, the Automatic Noise Canceling device produces 4 short bursts at about 100Hz. To correct this, you have to disconnect the rear microphone and cut the wire to the front microphone array. Preliminary info says it is a white wire that needs to be cut.
The Preliminary info was WRONG. Turns out the Noise Cancelling module is under the shifter trim. I will let you know how that works out when we get it working.
Don't waste the time unhooking the rear microphone. Unplugging the box takes care of it.
EDIT: Remove the 2 side rails left and right of the shifter. Remove the 2 phillips screws that hold the pocket in. Remove the pocket. There is a box above the pocket. There is a grey plug on the opposite side of the box, unplug that plug and reassemble the car and call it a day.   Have a Good Day.
