Hi all, I am trying to install a viper 4806v two-way remote start/keyless entry in my automatic 2004 toyota camry LE 4cyl. I got the lock/unlock, horn, and lights to work. The trunk release and starter does not work for me though. When I press AUX button on the remote, nothing happens and the trunk does not open. When I press the remote start button on the keypad, the car does not start and the headlights flash 7 times. Troubleshooting says 7 flashes mean a manual transmission mode error. This means I have to enter menu 3 and change the starter to automatic mode. When I follow the directions to get to menu 3, nothing happens because I cannot get to menu 3 when I hold down the control button after turning the ignition off. In other words, the control button is not working. The neutral switch is on like it is supposed to be. Kind of bummed about this. Could use some guidance. My wiring goes accordingly and this car does not have an immobilizer because I used a regular metal key to start it. This car has no alarm, just a stock keyless entry, trunk release, and panic button.

Try holding the button down for about 5 seconds until you start getting the horn honks.
When all else fails, Read the Instructions

Found a couple of problems.

1 Pink/white 200mA Ignition 2 output/ Flex output (not used) --> BLACK / YELLOW (+) Pin 4 in Ignition Harness

This wire should be "Not Used".   It's a low current (-), typically used for relay control.

3 RED / White 200mA Trunk Release Output (-) --> WHITE/ Blue Wire (-) off-white connector driver kick panel

The Trunk Release requires a "Five wire" setup using a relay.  Here is a diagram :
http://diagrams.marktoonen.nl/DOWNLOADS/14301_CAMRY_5-WIRE%20TRUNK%20RELEASE%20DIAGRAM.pdf
Use the top diagram and this Viper RED / White wire to Relay Pin 85.

9 Gray Hood Pin input (-) ---> (-) Ground to metal frame of Car

This wire should only see Chassis Ground when the hood is open which prevents a remote start ( or shuts down an
engine running under remote start ).  Disconnect it from ground for now but be sure to install the hood pin switch later.
It is a nice safety feature.

15 Green Door Input (-) --> Dome Sensor RED / green Wire (-) at White connector driver kick panel

This is only the driver door trigger.  To monitor all doors, here is a note from Bulldog Security :
NOTE #3: DRIVER DOOR TRIGGER IS RED / GREEN(-) AT LOWER LEFT OF THE FUSEBOX.
 PASSENGER DOOR TRIGGER IS RED / GREEN(-) AT UPPER LEFT OF THE FUSEBOX.
 REAR DOOR TRIGGER IS RED / WHITE(-) AT THE BOTTOM OF THE FUSEBOX. WHEN
 CONNECTING TO AN ALARM SYSTEM, USE ALL 3 DOOR TRIGGER WIRES AND DIODE
 ISOLATE, TO CONNECT, SEE DIAGRAM.   Here is link to the isolation diagram :
http://diagrams.marktoonen.nl/DOWNLOADS/14301_CAMRY_(-)%20NEGATIVE%20DOOR%20PIN%20ISOLATION%20CIRCUIT.pdf

17 Pink 200mA Ignition 1 Output (-) --> BLACK/ Red wire (+) at ignition harness

This wire should be "Not Used".  It's a low current (-), typically used for relay control.

5 Violet Starter Output (+) --> BLACK/ White wire (+) and BLACK / YELLOW wire (+) pin 8 both at ignition harness

Combining two wires together like this is not good.  The Toyota engineers spent a lot of time designing these circuits
and kept them separate for a reason.  Connect the Violet wire to only Starter1 and use a relay, wired as shown for
Starter2.
Relay Pin 85 to Viper 21 Violet / YELLOW 200mA Starter Output (-)
Relay Pins 86 and 87 to +12V constant through appropriate fuse
Relay Pin 30 to Camry Starter2
Relay Pin 87a - not used, insulate

As for Viper programming, keep trying.  It's a bit of a PITA, but do-able.  As for me, I bought a BitWriter.   automatic 2004 toyota camry le -- posted image.
