Hi all, I am trying to install a viper 4806v two-way remote start/keyless entry in my automatic 2004 toyota camry LE 4cyl. I got the lock/unlock, horn, lights to work, and trunk pop to work. I can't seem to get the remote start to work.
When I press the remote start button on the remote keypad, the car does not start and the headlights flash 7 times. Troubleshooting says 7 flashes mean a manual transmission mode error. This means I have to enter programming menu 3 and change the starter to automatic mode. When I follow the directions to get to menu 3, nothing happens because I cannot get to menu 3 when I hold down the control button after turning the ignition off. In other words, the control button is not working. The neutral switch is on like it is supposed to be. Kind of bummed about this. Could use some guidance. My wiring goes accordingly and this car does not have an immobilizer because I used a regular metal key to start it. This car has no alarm, just a stock keyless entry, trunk release, and panic button.
Again, the problem is :The remote start comes in default manual transmission mode so I have to switch it to automatic transmission mode but I can't seem to enter programming. When I try to enter programming with the procedure followed using the control button, nothing happens. It does not chirp and the LED does not blink. I also cannot enter valet mode using the control button. When the car is lock, the LED blinks. I do not know what is going on.

Have you learned the tach? If not, try to learn the tach to test the valet button.
Verify the pink ignition 1 input/output is receiving 12v when the key is on and 0v with the key off.
Also perform programming (system and transmitter) with a door open.

Hi Catback and Howie. When I follow the tach learning procedure, nothing happens when I press the valet button.
I verified pink ignition 1 input/output is receiving 12v when the key is on and 0v with the key off.
I've attempted to try programming with the door open, but it does not work. I am having the same problem of when I press the button on the control center, and there is no chirping or
LED blinking.
To answer your question Howie, I bought the DEI 1100X bypass and I didn't end up using it because the car started using a full solid metal key. So it does not require a bypass module, right?

Yes the tach wire in the car is the BLACK/ orange wire in the datalink connector at pin 9. I just checked if it is function properly. It does work.

Two things, try grounding your H2 green, I'd have used the switched ground input to the dome light but I don't see a problem with where you've gone did you test? It might be data, it should go to ground when a door is opened.
You will still need the key sense connection though.

Why are we running two threads here?
Why is this also on the vehicle wiring page?

I started another thread from before because I needed help with the wiring before. Now that I'm pretty sure about the wiring. I have tested most of them. I need help with programming now.
I've tried grounding H2 green that didn't work. I have tested the wire H2 green is connected and it tests 0v when door is close and 12v when any door is open.

OK, green grounded. Ignition on then off and within 5 seconds hold button, wait for it to sound 3 times, release button. Press button once then hold. Wait for one sound and press arm on remote.
Turn ignition on and off done.
Have you followed that chain exactly?
