And the moral of the story is that there was a bad connection on two quick splice connections that tested ok when I probed them but they did not pierce the insulation on the wires on the viper box because they were either 18 or 20 gauge wires. Thanks for all the help guys.

Not trying to beat you up, but as you may have seen in many post to this site. Solder your connections.
Glad you got it figured out.
I used crimp clamps on my first install. It was a disaster.
Never more.
