I want to install an electronic trunk popper solenoid in my car. Something like this: http://www.a1electric.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=AEOS&Product_Code=TK01KIT
Just wondering if anyone has come across anything at the junkyard that works the same. Something that came stock on a vehicle that I could pull and install in my car. I already know my car (92 MR2) never had this option from the factory, so I just want to find another vehicle that has a simple pull solenoid and put it on my latch. Yes I know that solenoid is cheap, but the junkyard will be even cheaper and I'm a big fan of that. Plus I need 2, maybe 3 of these.

3 for an MR2, really down to positioning the solenoid, done it loads of times on my own cars, after you've wired it up the longest time you will spend is getting them to work properly. Can't think of any OEM to suit your car, aftermarket units would be a better bet.

I just need one for an MR2. The other ones are for other cars. I was hoping I could find something I could use from a car I can find in the junkyard that's all. If not then I guess I will go aftermarket.

The units from scrapped cars are custom designed for that vehicle, positioning pull force etc. Many years ago I had a Nissan 280 with one as standard, when I got rid of it I installed that unit in two Maximas then a Mits, PITA each time.
