Then you must search to find what tells you the key is in the ignition, I can't really help you any more, haven't been near that model MX since about 93.

Well thanks for your help anyway howie II. I did ground the dark blue wire to see if that would change anything but it still does the same thing randomly. I also saw another post with someone having the same issue on a Viper 5701, same random lack of communication on an install that was 2 years old but this issue only came up after getting a replacement remote. To further add to the symptoms I've noticed several time now that when I've used the 2 way remote to unlock the door while it running and sat in the car and the remote has giving me the no comm error buzzer even though it did unlock the car. Very strange and kind of muddles the water as far as figuring out what is up.
