I have a 2001 silverado w/keyless entry and a dealer installed alarm. I've got a audiovox prestige APS901C remote start with flashlogic FLTB1 (16). The dealer installed alarm is a GM assessories VSC3200. it has your 12 pin plug, a 5 pin plug, led plug, valet plug, and a sensitivity dial. 8 of the 11 wires in the 12 pin plug, and 4 of 5 wires in the 5 pin plug, they all go to go to another GM assessories,( p/n 12484889), box that all 3 of the BCM plugs plug in to and then on the other side of that box, there's the 3 plugs (purple, blue, brown) that are about 10" long that then plug into the BCM. All The wires in those 3 plugs are brown. The yellow wire that goes from the alarm 12 pin plug to that BCM box 12 pin plug, also goes to a relay, prong # 86. Prong # 85 goes to the orange wire of the alarms 12 pin plug. Prong # 30 goes to the cut yellow wire going to the steering wheel and prong #87a goes to the plug behind the fuse box.
Does anyone know of any problems I might have with this install? This is my first remote start.
The flashlogic has been done before. The remote start came out of another truck i have. Im hoping it works, it came out of the same truck. The only difference between the two is 4.8 / 5.3
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

what you have is a factory installed alarm with a jumper T harness that they use for a quick plug n play install of their factory alarm. i personally would remove the dealer installed alarm and T harness and go back into the BCM with the original plugs. make sure to disconnect the battery before you go unplugging any of those BCM plugs.
removing the factory alarm brains will give you a lot more space for the fresh remote start install and eliminate a possible future failure point with the BCM T harness that is usually made of a lower quality design than the factory BCM plugs, a minor bad connection with in that harness could lead to bad things.
i dont think you will have a problem with re using the bypass if it came off of the same year truck but you will have to reset and re program it for the different truck.
what else you want to know?
