Good morning everyone. I'm attempting to install a Fortin IN-SL+ and a Ultra Start 1272 XR on a 2003 Chevy Impala. When programming the Fortin, the LED stays solid, and never blinks as it should when I turn the key to the "ON" position. I do have the D2D cable connected to each unit, and on the Fortin, I have connected:
Fortin        Impala Starter
Purple Purple OBDII
ORANGE / Black        Blue/White
Pink Blue (on the 6-pin large gauge)
Any thoughts as to why it won't program?

A few thoughts:

While the U1272 is supposed to automatically switch over to Fortin D2D on power-up, I think I would manually

program the U1272 to Fortin.  See Programming Table 4, Setting 6.

The U1272 is only one-way D2D capable, so your wiring looks OK.

The INT-SL+ gets its' input power from the D2D harness.  The Red light should come on when you plug in the D2D

harness with the button pressed.

Personally, I alway go W2W.  If all else fails, you might try switching over.

Soldering is fun!

Thanks! I will try the W2W if all else fails. You are correct in that when I hold down the program button on the Fortin, i plug in the black harness and the LED lights up steady. i then let go of the program button, and plug in the white harness. I then turn the key to ign, but as I said, the LED stays steady, even after 2 minutes. Thanks for the reply, I will try your suggestions and report back asap.

In D2D mode, you have to press the Lock button on the U1272's FOB prior to putting the key into the ignition switch. Step 5 of the programming steps.
Possibly a dumb question, but you do have the U1272's 6 Pin ignition harness connected to the Impala's ignition wires, right?
The U1272's thick Blue Ign1 wire should be connected to the Impala's Pink wire at the ignition switch harness ( which also has the Pink wire from the INT-SL+ ). The INT-SL+ needs to see the Impala's Ignition wire go to +12V via the key to program itself.
Soldering is fun!
