I am trying to install a Viper 4105 in my daughters 2007 Ford Fusion with the PKTX. The car will start with the remote starter if the key is in the ignition or even just pushed against it. My problem is that i can not get the PKTX to program. I am using two separate keys and the red light just stays red after putting the keys in the ignition.

I am assuming you are finishing the programming located on Page 7 of the manual. First key in, wait 3 seconds but no more than 10 seconds, remove 1st key and repeat with key 2 within 5 seconds of removing the first key. then within 5 seconds of removing the 2nd key remote starting with all keys away from the key cylinder?

If that isn't working it says to disconnect the 4 pin d2d harness and go back to step #1. Go by time by counting seconds and it should work.

If the remote start sequence isn't engaging fast enough like it waits 7 seconds after the last ignition sequence before energizing again this will not work and you will have to follow the manual transmission steps for programming.

Hope it helps!

As a side note if you are unsure how many keys are programmed to the vehicle it may be worth remembering that there is a limit to how many keys can be programmed to the vehicle. Should be somewhere between 5 and 10.

Programming on page 8 for the 40 bit system. I just had the second key made at the dealership, they didnt mention anything about any extra keys being programmed to the car.

So i read in another post about the way dei shows you to connect the bypass is looking at the back of the connector instead of the front of it and with no color code. So when my daughter gets home from work today i am going to reverse my connections and see if that works. Idatalink shows it from looking at the front of the connector and gives color.
