I have a quick question. I'm installing a Viper 5706 into my 2003 F-150. On the large wire connector there are 2 wires:
6 GREEN (+) STARTER INPUT (KEY SIDE OF THE STARTER KILL)
7 VIOLET (+) STARTER OUTPUT (CAR SIDE OF THE STARTER KILL)
On my truck the starter wire is a RED / Light Blue wire. My question is do I cut the wire and connect The Green alarm wire to the side of the wire that comes from my key and the Violet wire to the side that runs to the starter? Or do I simply splice the Violet wire onto the RED / Light Blue wire? If I do the cut, does that effectively cause the system to lock out the ability to start the truck if you're trying to hot wire the truck? Thanks!

Correct

yes, that is the purpose of a starter kill. the truck cannot be started when it is armed.
