I am going to be installing a remote starter in my 2015 Forester XT with push button start. I found the wiring diagram but am confused by the schematics. I have previously only installed car stereos and sub-woofers in cars so this is a new project for me.
Ok, so here is the wiring diagram I only have a questionn on the two parts I circled, the one has the dashed in part which looks like I don't even need to worry about because it's only for manual.
The other doesn't make sense to me because it has the wire shown to be connected and then cut (scissors). I kind of think now that it is saying to cut the wire entirely, and connect the one part to the for the car side data, and the other to the two wires for the connector side data Anybody know how to read this better than I can understand it? Does this mean I need to cut that wire at the connector and not tap into the wires like the other connectors in the diagram?
Thanks for any help, I really appreciate it!

Thanks for the confirmation. So this would mean that the controller is going to be routing all the immobilization data via the BLADE AL controller correct? A little freaked out to cut it.
So the car side would be where it plugs into, and the connector side would be the wires coming in via the connector, correct?
Thanks for your assistance with this, really wanting to be careful and make sure I do this right.

After you cut the wire the connector side is the wire that goes to the plug in the car side is the wire and the goes towards the vehicle

Ah ok, so I had it backwards. Is it normal to cut something like this when putting in a remote starter?

You have to do this on a lot of new cars.

Thanks so much for all your comments, I really appreciate it, always a little nervous to cut a wire, but knowing this is the way it has to be helps to set my mind at ease.

After looking at the diagram and comparing to my car it doesn't match up, I talked to idatalink support and they think it is possible that the forester model I have may have been made in a different plant that has different wiring, this kind of sounded to me to be a little odd. Has anyone wired up a forest xt push to start in the 2014-15 model years?
I don't know where to go to figure out what wiring I need to do. It's frustrating, I thought this would be rather simple to accomplish.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
