So after blowing 2 fuses and having to reprogram my key twice I've decided to get some help from the experts.
I currently have a 2012 ford focus that I'm trying to hook up my subs and amp. The entire installation is pretty much done, except the power wire. Keep in mind I am using my stock head unit. I have no idea how to install that because I don't know what wire I should use. I can't seem to find a decent diagram of the ignition harness so I'm not sure if it's possible to tap in there. Most people would probably tell me to go have a professional do it, but I had a quote done and they would charge me $165 for that one wire to be hooked up. No way.
Please someone help me because I just want to get this install done with.

Generally for sub and amp installs you go direct to the battery...there isn't a suitable power source at the ignition...which is why you're blowing fuses etc.   Please insure to fuse no more than 12 inches from the positive connection at the battery...research your system and see what fuse and gauge of power cae will suffice...good luck
As for the amp you require an amp turn on lead...which can be taken from an accessory lead...now you say you have a factory deck so I often use a line level converter which tags the rear speakers to get input for the system this is why the shop you spoke to is looking for 165.00...the power line, fuse holder and line levelers are a big chunk of the money...not to mention running the power line through the firewall is a pain. Not sure what size of system you're using but these connections need to be done correctly and with the right cable and fuse.
Solder, tape, repeat!

I have a line out converter installed my only issue is where to put the wire to turn my amp on and off. Originally I had it hooked up to a wire in my ignition harness but I would have to take out the fuse from the amp to turn it on/off. Everything else was set up correctly and looked at by an Automotive Technician to make sure there were no safety hazards. He said without a wiring harness he had no way to know where to put the receiver wire. Another forum said it would be possible if I wanted to hook it up to my tail light for power.

Your factory head unit should have a wire that goes to +12v when the ignition is turned on. That is the wire to attach your remote on to. In some cases you may need to install a relay in order to turn the amp on and off.
Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

There is not a switched wire at the rear of that radio.
