FYI - a 20A PWM DC Motor Speed Control Switch 9V-60V 13khz for USD$12.15 from eachbuyer.com here.
Tho 20A may be borderline for 2x10A motors, I have bought various items from eachbuyer with good results - not that I have yet used all the items I have bought.
I also think the 13kHz frequency should be better than lower frequencies of a few hundred Hertz - that might cause motor hunting (or whatever the heck LF PWM problems cause on motors) tho that 555 circuit can easily be for such frequencies (decrease C1 or R2 size).
Also being specified for motors (as opposed to LEDs or other resistive loads) they should be robust with no derating required. (Some inverters have to be 2x or 3x the motor rating; the same might apply for motors - ie, inductive loads are trickier than resistive or capacitive loads).
And the pot is separate and looks easily extendable for remote mounting. (Maybe one pot can be used for two units, or a different pot (twice the value?) or a (voltage) buffered pot or other voltage control source from a climate control device etc. But I'd consider adding a series resistor to limit the lowest speed possible - say 10% of the pot value(?). (For the 555 circuit, R3 (or is it R1?) should set minimum duty cycle.)
