On Sunday I installed a Directed 4x10 module on my friends 2015 Kia Optima PTS. I follow the installation diagram type 5 minus the EIPS.
It was working fine fine minus one time while testing it before my friend left my house Sunday.
On Monday she called me telling me that it doesn't work any more. That it starts and shuts off right away 3 times. That is the same thing it did to me once on Sunday but then it worked no problem a few times after that and she said it works fine Sunday night.
I looked at all the connection and relearn the tach but still won't start. I know that normally the start and then shuts off 3 times means that it is having a hard time reading the tach signal. But everything is programmed properly, it was working fine and all the connections are good. Any other troubleshoot ideas? It is just the Directed 4x10 with 3 times lock.
Thanks
Carlos

Update,
So about a week ago, I reset the 4x10 to factory and re-flashed it with the tach mode set to Virtual Tach in the flash settings. I checked all connections again. The car starts not problem now but no accessories while on RS and now when you get in the car you have to hit the PTS button once. Once you hit it once the accessories come on and you can drive off. If you just get in the car and hit the brake pedal nothing happens. If you hit the PTS button twice the car shuts off.
I re-flashed it again and the same behavior. Something is just not right. At this point I'm looking at other systems. I never really had any issues with DEI product but even DEI won't even talk to me.
I start to look at the Fortin Evo-One and the iDatalink ADS-AL. The Fortin Evo-One seems to be very very similar to the 4x10. The iDatalink looks more like a DB-ALL2 which requires to have an actual remote start doing the accessories portion. Anyone recommends the Fortin Evo-One? Any input on the DEI 4x10?
Thanks

fix your acc issue first. white connector EM11 DKP, pin 32 ORANGE (+). not sure why the guide doesn't have an acc.
your takeover is unlock, get inside with the key, step on brake, shift into gear.

Ted,
Thanks for the reply and that is what I was thinking that an ACC cable is possibly missing. On a Directed 4x10, which cable should I hook up to that ACC connection? I saw that pin used in iDatalink and Fortin but not DEI.

use one of the unused outputs, program it to be acc on xpressvip and use a relay.
85 - acc output from viper
86 - constant 12v
87 - constant 12v fused
30 - acc wire on car

Awesome, I forgot we can program unused ports on the 4x10. Will do this on Sunday and report back.

Ted,
So I was able to work on the car today. I hooked up the relay up and connected to H3/18 Blue/White cable. Programmed the 4x10 to have that cable be a latch linked to remote start.
When I try to R/S the car, it goes through the cycle but never tries to start(starter does not kick on). I can see the accessories kicking in but it never cranks. From my observation I think that the ACC cable is kicking in before the Ignition and it is not letting it start. If I unplug the H3 harness the car starts no problem but no ACC.
Here is a link to a screen grab of the settings page. I tried a few combinations for that output but nothing. It seems like I'm just missing a setting. Thanks

for pts the acc has to drop for it to crank. the setting you have causes it to have a constant output during starting. You need to somehow change it to become an acc instead.

I don't remember having the option for anything like that.

Just so everyone knows, after check all the connections for a 4th time, I noticed that the fuse connection for the input power for IGN 2 was a little lose. I cut the fuse holder and added a new one and it worked. No need for powering the ACC cable. IGN 2 is what powers the blower. I fixed it almost 2 weeks ago, just forgot to post this. Thanks Ted
