Here is some info on Tach signals :

4.6 liter SOHC and 4.6 liter DOHC, two coils at top front of engine. Use RED / yellow, pink/white, RED / light blue or dark blue/light blue.

Correction on the Trunk Release :

H2/5 RED / WHITE (-) 200mA TRUNK RELEASE OUTPUT- purple / YELLOW
The Purple / YELLOW wire requires a (+) pulse, not the low current (-) pulse the Viper outputs.  You will need a relay to convert the
Viper's (-) to a (+) for the Mustang.  Like this  :  https://www.the12volt.com/relays/page1.asp

Do your have keys with a transponder chip?  If you're not sure ( or have a plain metal key that starts the car ), try this test :

https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp?tid=134973

You should have a clutch pedal interlock switch that prevents the starter motor from engaging without the clutch pedal fully

depressed.  You will have to properly bypass this interlock switch with a relay during a remote start-up.

Haven't done a 1996 Mustang but... ReadyRemote has this info :

DOOR TRIGGER IS GRAY (-) WITH KEYLESS ENTRY @ either kick panel
so you won't use H2/12 (  H2/12 VIOLET (+) DOOR TRIGGER INPUT- oem keyless gray )
and H2/6 GREEN (-) DOOR TRIGGER INPUT (N/C* OR N/O) goes to the above mentioned Gray wire.

As for this Viper input, H2/2 BLACK/ WHITE (-) NEUTRAL SAFETY INPUT- ,  it should be connected to a vehicle wire that shows

(-) when the Parking Brake is engaged.  I imagine that there is some sort of dash indicator that goes red when the parking
brake is on, so there should be some sort or sensor at the parking brake itself.  Test to see whether it the standard (-) or
something else.

Don't see any bypass modules listed for your car, so if you do have a transponder chipped key and an ignition immobilizer

system, you might have to get another blank chipped key ( $9 on EBay ) and program it to the car, then use a universal
"key-in-the-box" type bypass module ( like DEI 556UW ).

And there could be up to 5 Yellow +12V constant wires at the ignition switch, so split the Vipers load between them.

H2/5 RED / WHITE (-) 200mA TRUNK RELEASE OUTPUT- purple / YELLOW * needs relay to change signal
H2/6 GREEN (-) DOOR TRIGGER INPUT (N/C* OR N/O)- gray
Door Lock, 3-pin connector
1 BLUE (-) 500mA UNLOCK OUTPUT- pink/green
2 EMPTY NOT USED
3 GREEN (-) 500mA LOCK OUTPUT- pink / YELLOW

Yes, plus Trunk Pin, Hood Pin ( if you want the alarm to monitor those points ) and probably H3/1, H3/4 & H3/5 if you want to monitor the ignition and do a starter kill during alarm.

Probably no factory hood pin on your car, so have to add Viper kit hood pin.

Trunk Trigger is (+), so need a relay for conversion on that input.
