Is there an easy way to remove the door panels on a 1996 S-10 Blazer without damaging the clips that hold it on? ___________________________________ Donnie

Ya, use a door panel removal tool and carfully pry at the panel along the edge where the clips are. If you pull the door back a little bit you will be able to see the clips holding on and then be able to position the tool. Dont forget to remove all the bolts first. also if you do not know where are the screws and clips are or you are unsure which is which. a very good investment is the haynes complete teardown and rebuild book for your car. this book has come in handy soo many times and tells you how to remove, fix, install just about everything. def. a must for any car you own. ___________________________________ 94 Pontiac Sunbird 3.1 V6

Haha, I own a 96 S-10 Blazer. It's rather quite simple actually. What I did, this is just what I did, not what you have to do, is first, take the power window, door lock, mirror thingie, ect., off of the door. Do so by lifting up on the front end of the pannel that holds them. Then, there is a screw behind the door handle, it dosen't come all the way out, so just turn it a few times. Take the door handle cover off by prying on the front of it with a flathead screwdriver. Next with a flathead screwdriver, remove the covering plate inside the door handle, then remove the two screws, 10mm if I remember correctly. Next, start at the bottom left of the door, and pull foward on the panel. Go up and around both sides, do it two or three times, just to be sure you get all od the plastic retaining clips. After that, just pull the pannel out of the window groove, and then you're done.
Not nearly as hard as it may sound. Installation is the reverse of removal. Then only thing to watch out for is when you put the door handle back on, make sure the metal guide for the door lock lines up with the backside of the manual door lock. This is the most time consuming part for me, but after taking the doors off about 10 times, I've gotten pretty good at it.
That's also the way you have to replace the mirrors. I've done that to many times to even say. Dang garage doors. :-p
