I have a 95 Accord EX sedan, and I am trying to get an OEM security system for my car. The one for my car has the older, gigantic, square remotes, and I would rather not use one of those, especially considering the price. I am wondering if anyone knows whether the OEM security system from a 1997 Accord Special Edition sedan will plug into my car. I have the chance to have one for free, and I want to use that, but I don't know if they are compatible. I would think that they are, because they are both 5th generation Accords, but I'm not positive. Anyone that has experience with 94-97 Accord security systems, please give me a hand!

In "Honda speak", a 5th generation accord is a 94-97 Accord. Each major body style change is a new generation.

So, a 90-93 is a 4th gen, a 94-97 is a 5th gen, a 98-02 is a 6th gen, and the current 03+ body style is the 7th generation Accord.
