Looking to get a new deck with a cell phone mute feature/wire...I'm going to wire up my X50 radar detector to mute the radio when it goes off...The X-50 has an alert LED mounted on the powercord...The alert LED only turns on and flashes when radar's detected...The alert LED is triggered with 4v negative...What voltage does a cell phone give to trigger the cell phone wire on a HU?
With relays and/or diodes and/or resistors I can get any +/- volage, but I need to match a cell phone's voltage...

Thanks, also the majority of the HU with these feature are automatic...Meaning as soon as the ground stops sending current, the radar automatically resumes, correct?  Or is there I button I have to push on the HU to unmute it?

Alpine, Sony and Eclipse are automatic. I assume that most others are as well. I have only connected mutes on those brands.
