Im looking for the wire for the emergency brake to hook up to my pioneer avic n-2. I need this to shut off the dvd while im driving. Yeah... i actually want to do it the responsible way.

It's attached to the parking brake arm in the rear of the pedal. You should be able to see the wire with a trouble light. ___________________________________ Jeff

do you know what color it should be? and the polarity? i know the avic wants a ground when its on, but it wont show + when its off will it? someone said it might be +12 when the ebrake is in normal state.

When the e brake is not engaged it is neutral. not negative and defenitly not 12volt. Its just a open or closed negative switch ___________________________________ Southern Stylez

Their usually pretty high up. Probably on the top of the e brake switch or kinda behind it. The thing to do is get the trouble light or just a flast light something and just start an the e brake an just follow it up, its pretty tight area but you will see the wire. Try the Neutral Safety Wire in the ignition switch. Red/Light Blue its easier to get to and it wont work with the car in drive ___________________________________ Southern Stylez

the ignition switch sounds like a good idea. theonly problem is that i think the process to deactivate the dvd lock is to basically give the unit one ground pulse, then a constant ground. hit the ebrake, relase, then hit it and let it stay. that wont really work with the ignition safety

I checked my manual on that system and I don't see where it says that. I don't even remeber anyhing like that on this system I can recall I few I've installed I dont remember such a problem. I've done an alpine light that I think all I did was loop the ground wire or something but just hook i up it will work ___________________________________ Southern Stylez
