Looking on what wires to to tap onto to supply 12v+, 12v+ Swithed and color of wire to interrupt starter for ignition kill. On this vehicle it has a lower knee air bag, does this need to come off as I see no access to get behind the ignition switch. This also is a keyless trasponder ignition system.
What can I do? Please advise

What are you actually doing to the car? I haven't done one myself...
I have heard the best place to find a switched ignition wire under the dash in that car is at the brake switch.
Constant, I would go to the battery. Maybe an in car fusebox, but it may cause computer problems.
Starter wire...what for? If you are doing a starter kill....why bother? Those cars don't get stolen by getting hotwired, they get stolen on a tow truck.

I install for credit unions for folks with bad credit or low fico scores and this system put's them in check. A GPS tracking system and a voice activated kill switch so it's not like it for security at all but more for credit unions benifit. If it get's towed the the benifit goes to both parties as they still hold interest in the vehicle. That is why the starter circuit is ness.....
That and I still need answers if anyone has done one.

As far as I know, the wiring going up to the ignition switch is CAN BUS. There is not a typical starter wire. Nobody makes a module to remote start the car, so good luck finding someone that has done one. You may be better off trying to interupt a fuel pump wire or something. No matter what you do, you'll probably trigger a check engine light.
What is a person with a bad credit score buying a 7 series for? Sounds like they should be taking care of some other bills before dropping money on a car that costs that much.

Thanks but the Li's are different monsters all together, if you looked at the other posts above they are all buss to ECMs or computors and send low voltage signals to control things. I did however go to a BMW dealer and drilled one of there techs and they showed me a few things about it. I just need more feedback from someone who has tested one and successfully installed some kind of aftermarket item needing those same circuitry I need somewhere under the dash.
Thank Keep em coming because someone here is bound to need the same info.

Hmm, I have an idea.
The goal is that the car can't be driven when it's not supposed to be driven, correct?
Would your client be satisfied if the engine would start, but the car was still undriveable? It might be difficult to explain to them.......
But if the brake swtich is accessible.......and you need to step on the brake to get the car out of Park.........maybe you could just interrupt the brake wire? They could start the car, but they couldn't go anywhere.
Another idea would be to search the fuse/relay box and see if you could find a starter relay............. I'm still trying to think of how you could use that to your advantage, though.

Chris, thank you the brake switch is a good idea if it allows the shifter not to disingauge out of park that would serve the same purpose. Why didn't I think of that? Duhhhhh! I will have to do more research on that with the dealership.
