I am planning on installing a Crimestopper RS1704TW2 in a 05 Mazda 3 with an XK04 bypass. My "go-to" guy for questions has recently passed away so I'm hoping someone here can review the install and let me know if everything looks correct..
I've never done any Mazda vehicles so not sure of the degree of difficulty. The install looks very straight forward according to Installogy diagrams. Only one ign wire, two accessory wires, and only one starter.
I see the door locks can be controlled via the factory alarm.. So if the car has the factory alarm I can just connect the door lock wires to them along with the arm/disarm wires from the brain, right?
Is there a way for me to test to see if it has the factory alarm before the install? If it doesn't, it says it's a one wire system which means I could use a 451M module, right?
Other than that the install looks easy as far as wiring goes. Is there a lot of room to work or is it a super cramped install?
Thanks!

Don't know the vehicle but the easiest way to see if it has a factory alarm would be to drop a rear window, or a front passenger side if it's 3 doors, hit the lock button on factory remote twice, wait one minute then stick your body through and try to open that door. Either of the things you just did would trip a factory alarm if there was one.

Ok. Thanks guys.
So if it has the factory alarm I can just tie both the disarm and unlock wire from the remote start to the disarm wire of the car, right?
Anyone have experience with this car? Is it a tough one physically?

I think by remote starting the car when it see the (+)key sense and the transponder bypass it gonna disarm by it self      just tink that the colum sterring  is telescopic  so make sure your wire is long enough when installing the starter   best place is beside the steering at left  just over the small compartement  there is a metal braket so you can tie it down to it  I did some of theme there are not that bad    if you need the door pin you have to go on passenger side under the fuse box          tonight i'am doing a 2008 automatic without alarm  so just give me a call if you have any question ( Jacques) i live in quebec Canada ( 1-450-701-8745 )

So for the wiring I have:
12 Volt connects to BLACK/ Red or Red at IGN harness
Ignition connects to GREEN/ YELLOW at IGN harness
Accessory connects to Pink / YELLOW at IGN harness
Accessory 2 connects to Yellow at IGN harness
Starter connects to Gray/Black at IGN harness
Tach connects to Opposite of GREEN/ Stripe at Injector
*Lock connects to GREEN/ Red at Driver's Kick Panel
*Unlock connects to GREEN/ Red at Driver's Kick Panel
*1-Wire system... Ground to unlock and ground through a 1K resistor to lock. If vehicle is equipped with a factory alarm, use the arm/disarm instead.
If it doesn't have factory alarm I will use a 451M module.
Trunk connects to BLACK/ Red on junction block below glovebox in brown plug.
Factory Arm connects to BLACK/ Blue in Driver's Kick Panel
Factory Disarm connects to BLACK/ White in Driver's Kick Panel
Brakeswitch connects to RED / White at brake pedal
Parking Lights connect to BLACK/ White at light switch
Horn connects to Black at Steering Column
XK04 Connects to PATS wiring
----------------------------------------------------------
So the wiring seems to be pretty straight forward.. Only wire I think would be troublesome is the trunk pop one. Anyone have trouble finding it?

Doing the car this weekend.. Does this car have a trunk pop I can hook up? Some diagrams have it and some don't...

does your vehicle have an actual button that you press to open the trunk or a lever that you pull (similar to your fuel door)?  If it has the former then you should be able to hook it up to your alarn, if it has the latter then you won't be able to without adding a trunk release motor!

Got ya.. Thanks much for the reply.
Any idea if this car is easily accessible to the wires needed?
