First what I have is a 2005 Mazda3 with a prostart ct 3471tw remote starter and a db all interfacing module.

Just recently the remote starter will not work at all (lock/unlock or start) then a couple hours later it will work just fine. The car can sit still there for a couple hours then randomly just work. I soldered ALL of my connections. The status led on the antenna blinks normally... no signs of shortage. Help! This is extremely annoying. Could it be a faulty unit?

Honestly I hate to say it but the DBALL has never worked well for me on Ford/Mazda vehicles. I can only recommend Idatalink/Flashlogic for these vehicles.

Believe it or not but try making sure you have a solid ground. A weak ground or loose ground can cause issues. Also, just because you have a wire soldered does not mean it has a solid connection. Make sure its soldered thoroughly to avoid "cold solder joints" because that is worse then wrapping a wire and taping it up. I also have had instances when I make all the connections to the vehicle and the remote start unit does respond without the ground wire connected. Check that first.

This was fixed! It was a faulty RS and not programming module. I would not purchase a ProStart remote starter again.
