Hey guys thanks for looking. I've been an installer for more than 20 years. Had old account here but first time poster. I have an kvt717dvd that I got with a wiring nightmare. I have looked everywhere, including the new kenwood. Every place I look I can see all the wiring colors and what they do. My issue is what pin in the plug is what. If you install car audio you know what I mean in some of these plugs don't age well. So if anyone knows the locations, or know where I can find the information. Or if someone has one of this models harnesses, could you please take me a picture of the back side where the wires go in so I can see what pin is what. On both the 8-pin and 16-pin plugs. Thanks in advance
Josh

Oldspark you are a lifesaver. See, who needs color pictures. You just need to know what you are looking at, and what you are looking for. That's what I needed. THANK YOU. You wouldn't by chance know the link for one of those tech manuals for a Pioneer AVH-P6500DVD. I have other issues with it. If not thanks again new friend.

I know absolutely nothing about units like that. I merely (highlighted & right clicked your "kvt717dvd" above and...) googled it.
Noticing that first listed User Manuals didn't include the info I added installation to google and (surprisingly!!!) came up with that full SERVICE manual.
I'd merely repeat the same for your Pioneer AVH-P6500DVD, though I could link you to lmgtfy... (Yes, that has its equivalent service manual.)

Well it doesn't matter if you are gods gift to 12v electronics or know the right words to put into google. You helped me out this weekend, and another thanks to you sir. Maybe I was stressing to much or trying to hard. It will give me something to do in this nice(HaHa LOL) weather we are having. So I can get the ride back rollin. Thanks again Oldspark....

Although I've been waiting to use lmgtfy.com for subtle displays of sarcasm, this was a case finally being able to show it off. It wasn't meant in an insulting way in this case although it would have seemed so after my prelude.
And the prelude was my way of saying how we - or at least me - often find the answers to OP questions tho it was also trying to emphasise to google or otherwise search - often that is quicker than waiting for forum replies.
Not that I understand why supposed young or tech-savvy people ask on Ask or Yahoo etc before a web search - I tend to assume they are provocateurs or researchers demonstrating how stupid most such web answers are - but for those that aren't aware... The number of times I say google, google or google... It was Google that made me Systems Administrator for this country's largest switched-data network (of course my employer would not pay the few $hundred or $thousand for courses required to save 18 months of my upper-income salary and help protect & maintain a multi-$billion network...).
At least asking for hard (as in physical or technical) stuff like manuals etc IMO is fine - especially for apparently web deficient things like aseco alarms or invisibeams (those being 2 recent the12volt threads) - as are opinions & advice sought from specialist sites. [ But as if forum misinformation hasn't been increasing, and then people ask opinions from anyone. We wonder why true & correct knowledge is on the wane? ]
If I were to be sarcastic, it would be because you have easily found the information you sought on the web - TWICE - complete with what is usually restricted full service information! Now ytf can I so rarely find such information when I want it? kvt-717dvd -- posted image. kvt-717dvd -- posted image.
Sorry if I came across harsh. That was a bit different to the usual welcome this site extends.
But I am so happy that you got that info. I'm usually on a high for days after finding stuff like that.
Best wishes,
Peter the old-&cranky-fart.
