Hi. So, I have designed my first sub box. I'm gona run a couple of kicker 10" subs 400rms ea. I have been doing lots of reading lately about car audio systems, mainly on this forum. I have learned quiet a bit in the past few days. Any ways, I would like some opinions on this box. According to your port size, length calculator kicker recommends a about a 41 hertz 1.75ft box and I tried to stick to that as much as posible. I got about 1.73cubick ft. per speaker considering this is a 19" port. now as far as the port length goes im not sure what this would be considered: a 19" port or a 16.5" port? I also would like to know if the bracing is ok or overkill or not enough? This is going into my sisters little 318 bmw hatchback. the box i hve right now is realy crappy box i bought many years ago before I knew anything about it. Its .5" mdf with out any kind of bracing wats so ever, and its coming apart at the seams, I had to put a few screws in it. I measured it and it seams to be tuned about the low 40s. As far a power goes, its more than she need, I had to turn the amp down. She listens to all kinds of music so I didn't want to tune it realy low, did I make the right choice? In my design i'm using 3/4 mdf with 1" baffles. and 1"x1" triangular bracing. Also a 10"x10"x1" triangular brace and a 1.5" wooden dowel in the middle. And yes, I have calculated all the volume that bracing take up. Please let me know it I should do anything differently. Thanks for all the input and help.

There is never enough bracing. Period. When you add more bracing, you do have to add that occupied volume back into your equations, though...
Here's what I expect...

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

So, I designed a completely different box, I didn't like the looks of the first one. this is as big as can fit in the back of the 318ti. I would like to know if this is a good idea to put the speakers on top an port to the rear of the car? there will be about 2-3inches between the box and the back of the trunk, is this enough clearance for the port? I now came out with exactly 1.75cf and a 20"long and 26.25sqr" port which should give me about 41 hertz. What can I expect from this setup?
