I'm installing speakers into the sliding doors on a 2000 Dodge Caravan but there is no door harness. The only thing electrical through the doors are the power locks that run through contact switches, so they are only functional when the door is closed.
Anyways, does anyone know if you can use the sliding door harness with the interlocked tracking system from vans 2001-2007 ( I believe those are the years) in the 2000 Caravan I'm working on. Or has anyone successfully made their own harness without any wire getting caught in the sliding door.
I know I can add another set of contact switches on each door but the speakers will be nonfunctional while the door is open. Any tips or tricks would be awesome.

If you open the door, wouldn't the speaker be firing into the outside of the van body?

Yeah it would be. I was worried about sound volume decreasing when the door opened on the rear channel of whatever door was opened. The ohm rate would increase from 2 to 4 ohm on the rear channel of the amp since it would be a 8 speaker system with the front and read channels bridged to 2ohms. I guess it wouldn't be that noticeable in the rear with the door(s) open. Anyone every ran amplified audio through a contact switch? This would be my first go-round with it. How is the sound quality or is there a noticeable difference?

I'm not using a mono amp for 8 full range speakers. Im gonna use a massive audio nx4 4 channel amp. What does that have to do with SQ through a contact switch?
