its been a long time since messing with alarms, im old school and when all these cars starting using the can/bus systems I got out from doing any alarms for a long time. I recently bought a 2014 jeep wrangler and wanted to go all out on security for obvious reasons.
I will be installing it tomorrow.
Vss5x10
smart start DSM350+
rf remote kit 9756V
proximity detector 508D
voice warn away siren 516U
I got everything wired, using the VIP4.5 software and XKloader I changed the ground when running to a ground when armed so the voice module and proximity detector will work when armed. loaded the jeep info and it was all pretty simple.
my question is about using the trunk (-) trigger as my trigger for the proximity detector, the "warn away" zone is going to my voice module and I want the "alarm" to go to a separate zone on the alarm besides the shock sensor zone. now back in the day there were multiple inputs but on this alarm I can only see maybe using the trunk input.
will the light blue wire work even though the software seems to show it will only work through the can/bus?
is there any way to change that input to say it is a prox detector?
is there a better way to do what im wanting besides using the trunk trigger input?
