Hey guys,
I'm working on the installation of my first remote start/security system, in my 2013 Subaru BRZ (manual, pushbutton start). I've put about 20 hours of work into my wiring spreadsheet, but I could use another set of eyes to double check things, especially to make sure all the wires I've excluded I definitely don't need.
Some "extras"/notes to consider in this system:
  • Using a 507M Tilt Sensor
  • Vehicle has 2 starter and 2 ignition wires - using the internal Viper relay for the 2nd ignition, and an external relay for the 2nd starter. I intend to use one +12V circuit for STR1/IGN1 (WHITE/ green) and a separate +12V circuit for STR2/IGN2 (WHITE/ red)
  • Door Lock Switches require a positive input, so I'm using an inverter to reverse the -500mA outputs of the Viper
  • I plan to use D2D for my bypass connections, so no wire-to-wire connections needed
  • For ADS-ALCA firmware, I have two options: ADS-AL (DL)-SUB2 or DBI-AL(DL)-SUB2. The wiring diagrams look identical, any clue which I should use?
  • I've listed the reference page from the BRZ wiring diagram if applicable next to each connection, it can be found here: BRZ Wiring
  • I currently am not planning on hooking up the factory alarm arm/disarm wires, should I?

To make life easy, flash the ADS AL-CA with the DBI-AL(DL)-SUB2 firmware and follow the current Guide #22525 & the Type 1

install diagram.  Set the ADS AL-CA to Data mode and use the D2D harness.  This will make all the dashed red connections for you.
If you look at the supported Feature list on Page 2, you will see all the features that the bypass module does for you.  Follow the
guide closely.  You will not need a separate relay for Starter2 ( Clutch interlock ) - only 2 diodes to split the Starter1 signal.  Additionally,
there will be no need for direct connections from the Viper to the car for the Tach, E-Brake, Trunk Release, Brake and Door and Trunk
status.  The ADS AL-CA does all this for you.

If you follow the diagram, the lock connections are indicated as (-) so no signal conversion is needed, just a direct connection from the

Viper remote starter to the proper wires in the car as shown.

Soldering is fun!
