Hi - I recently had an Avital 5303L remote starter/alarm installed - and the range isn't quite adequate (only 500 feet with line of sight, about half that if signal must pass through a car or building). Is there anyway to extend the range by replacing the antenna with one that has a greater range?
Currently the antenna is also mounted along the A-pillar - would it help if it was behind the rearview mirror?
So far I've tried new batteries and had the antenna and transmitter replaced under warranty - but still limited range.
Thanks in advance for any help! The functionality of a remote starter drops significantly when you have to go outside to use it!

Usually the best range is with the antenna mounted in the center of the windshield, up high but below the dark tinted area.  The advertised 1,500 foot range is under idea line-of-sight conditions and somewhat optimistic in IMHO.
Soldering is fun!
