Any ideas on how I can overide my dome lights from coming on my 2008 Ford F-350 Crew Cab Power Stroke diesel. I would like to do a mod to where I can over ride the dome lights through a switch and not have the dome lights come on when I go to open my doors but able to flip a switch and still have the option to have the dome lights come on when the doors open. Wonder why Ford doesn't have this feature, it's aggravating! Please help me with this mod with any ideas or suggestions. Would like to make it where it looks like a factory switch and not aftermarket. Thank you in advance for any replies.

There are 3 circuits involved with "dome lights". These 3 circuits are controlled by the SJB.
Fuse 9 is the overhead lights. Yel/gry wire, pin 9, Connector "A" @SJB.
Fuse 10 is the Cargo, running board, and puddle lights. Violet wire, pin 12, Connector "C" @ SJB.
The easiest way to do your interrupt would be to remove the fuse, and insert the switch between the two fuse terminals. Put the fuse in an in-line holder in your wiring. Use a DPST switch to interrupt both circuits with one switch. An alternate would be to cut the wires behind the SJB, and insert your switch.
