I just bought some interior 3way planet audio speakers, and on the rear 6x9s seem to crackle in the high ranges. It doesn't seem to matter if I turn down the volume or the treble. I'm not running an amp to them, just an Alpine cda-9830 head unit. It sounds like it's just the tweeters making the noise, and being so soon since installation, I wouldn't think I could have blown anything, especially since I'm not running high power to them. What could be causing the distortion?

Make sure your EQ is set to flat, but it is also possible the speakers are just defective.
