I have the regular Ram 1500 res radio and bought a Jensen vx7022 to install in its place. I need to run the ignition power wire separate and it says on the sheet to run it to the fuse box but I don't see a place to put it, it came with the harness and has a flat spade connector on it like it would slide in a slot? Also, I cut out a bracket in back cavity where the radio mounts but I have to trim the inside opening of the plastic around the radio opening that is behind the outside bezel. It is maybe 1/8 inch to small. Anyone done this? And have advise on best way to shave that plastic down? It won't show once the bezel is on but I want to do a neat job, I thought maybe using a rasp and take my time but maybe there is a better easier way?

Run switched wire to the cigarette lighter. If your cigarette lighter is constant, the fuse for it has 2 possible positions, move it to the other position.

I just installed a radio in my 2011, I just used a sharp razor blade to trim the plastic out. A little at a time. You won't see it in the end. The hardest part was cutting the metal bracket in the back. It's awkward. I used a long saw blade.
