Correct, the entry level DEI units do not have a temp probe.  They will turn on the Defrost output 10 seconds after a
successful R/S ( all year long ) and keep it on for 10 minutes or until key take over.
Soldering is fun!

I used Adobe illustrator to make the diagrams.   You can import the outline for the idatalink and viper units right from their install pdfs as vector art and easily manipulate and add wires etc.
