So, apparently the first time I flashed the module only some settings took. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this common?
Also, midway through a firmware flash it failed. I called Directed who are extremely and purposefully unhelpful. It took quite a bit but I was able to get it out of him that "RED / orange" blinking infinitely means the firmware flash failed.
I told them since the failed flash the xk2 no longer recognized the module. They told me to send it back to whoever I bought it from for a replacement.
I've tried to soft/hard reset and I can't break it from the "red orange" infinite loop "failed flash" mode.
Any idea? Or is this thing permanently bricked??

It could be a bad unit. Where did you buy it from? Why do you think they were purposefully unhelpful?

I agree. It probably is bad. Where I got it from is irrelevant. If you have ever called directed you will know what I mean. Every response is "take it back to the dealer", or "ask the dealer you purchased it from".
In the install/manual it tells you what all the lights/patterns mean, well, some/most of them anyways.
So if it flashes red and orange indefinitely it means the firmware flash failed. If the soft and hard reset don't work I'm guessing it means you bricked the brain/module.
