I had a DEI remote start with a DEI DBALL2 bypass installed this December in my girlfriends Rav4. I had it installed at the shop I used to work at as I haven't touched a remote start install since 2006. Too much has changed and I no longer feel comfortable installing with the new bypasses and programming. For the past week her tire pressure light has been flashing on and off randomly. It will flash a few times then go away. With her car being under warranty I had her take it to the dealer for repair. They are claiming the remote start and or bypass is causing interference and causing the TPMS system to malfunction. I am going to double check all wiring connection tonight when I get home to rule out any shorts. MY question is has anyone seen the DBALL2 bypass fail and cause this issue? Has anyone had any TPMS issues with a Toyota and found it to be caused by the remote start or bypass?
Thanks,
Brad

Yes. It's a known issue with earlier firmwares for the db-all. More specifically, it's the rda connection that is causing this. What model remote start is in it? If it's a one button, the rda is not needed. If not, there are a few different ways to take care of it. Let me know.

It is an Avital model 4113 one button remote start. I was able to read the report from the dealer and they are saying there is a canbus communication error due to interference caused by the bypass. This was installed in Dec of 2015 with I believe the most current firmware. Honestly I am not sure what RDA is. It has been ten years since I was installing and that was when the PL Data was just starting to get popular. If the firmware is the cause I would assume it could be updated at my old shop.

One more thing that could help is I am able to unlock the doors by pushing the single button on the starter key fob when the car is running. With the question about being a one button or not this might help narrow down how this was installed.

The current firmware in December had this issue. There were a few firmware updates to fix the issue.
"v2.01Resolves an issue where the TPMS light may remain on v1.06fix tpms light turn on when car was started by remote starter"
The dealer is most likely wrong with the can bus diagnosis. The car uses the same data wire (rda) to communicate with the factory keyless and the tpms. Factory keyless with car off and tpms when the car is on. The good part here is you don't even require this connection with your current setup. It allows the aftermarket remote start lock and unlock the car when the car is off. Your avital doesn't have the ability the lock/unlock with the car off.
If you take a peek under the fuse box (near diag plug), you will see a ORANGE / black wire connected to a light blue wire. Just disconnect it and it should fix the issue.
