I have a 2005 Silverado with a Clifford alarm, that drains the battery after a period of time. I am still trying to chase it down but meanwhile I purchased a:PriorityStart ProMax HD Car Truck 12V Battery Vehicle Start Protector(tm) to cut the battery at 11.7volts while sitting as a stop-gap.
My problem is that I have a self powered 515R that will start throwing fits when that happens and my neighbors will likely have me tarred & feathered.
Should I just replace it with a normal siren or does anyone have a creative solution to this.
Thanks in advance for any help! (Apologies if I have broken any rules)

First point, never in 30 + years seen a decent brand of alarm drain a vehicle battery unless it was incorrectly wired or triggering a relay which was always on with the alarm.
So look for something else.
Wire the siren feed directly from the battery.

I have no reason to believe that the alarm is draining the battery. The truck I s and it has a Clifford alarm. My concern right now is the siren

First find the cause of the battery drain that's your priority, everything else is moot.

Come on!....That's ludicrous obi-Wan ! Been chasing it for over a year . Not being stranded in the back country of Wyoming without cell service is MY priority. I also have led lights that I have been known to forget. This kills several proverb birds with one stone. Truth be told, I do think it's the alarm. I was simply trying to avoid a treatise from you on the subject and get back to my original problem. My solution is to simply go to a non self powered siren at this point. The guy who installed the alarm was an idiot so I am left to do the best I can.
