Adding remote start keyfob to Hornet 570t

Full disclosure, I a not a alarm auto industry guy, just average Joe consumer. Hornet 570t with xk05-PKT2 Purchased a new 471T keyfob and trying to add it to system. Reviewed 2 ways to do this, one on youtube with valet switch (Which I don't have). Second was in manual by: 1. removing fuses on red wires (which I can't find) 2. Turn ignition to on 3. press learn button on brain (570t) I have tried the second way without removing fuses with no luck. I really need some guidance on what I should do to get this new keyfob added to system. Thanks!

More specifically in question, Do I need to program it with the valet switch? Do I really need to remove the fuses to be able to program the brain?

Should I just go to my local dealer? Trying to avoid the cost of a 5 minute reprogram.

Your 570t should have the port for the valet button. Check that it does, and if so, go to a local shop and buy one. He should have a drawer full of them. Might cost you 5 bucks. I don't use the Valet Mode very frequently, but I do use the button to disarm the system when the fob acts up. Which is an ongoing problem with DEI fobs. I'm not aware of "pull the fuse to program" with a DEI either, but maybe some models do. I think you should add the button.

I don't think it does. There is a port on the side of it, but the owners and install manual for the 570t doesn't mention anything about a valet button or switch.

All right. Sorry for the mis-information. I downloaded and read the install manual. This isn't an alarm, so it won't have "valet mode" or the button. Again, sorry. The programing instructions to add a fob are pretty clear. The "removing the fuses" seems important. If you can't find the fuses, then disconnect and reconnect the battery instead. Then turn the ignition switch on. Here are the instructions I found. The park lights are used as the feedback that the prompt was successful. 1. Remove both fuses from the control module fuse holders, then re-insert into the fuse holders. 2. Turn the ignition to the ON position. The parking lights will turn On. 3. Press and hold the program button on the control module. The parking lights will flash Off and then back On to acknowledge program mode. 4. Press and hold the [ I ] button on the transmitter. The parking lights will flash Off and then back On to acknowledge transmitter programming. note: If the parking lights did not flash the transmitter learn was not successful. Return and repeat from step 1 this procedure. To add additional transmitters (within 10-seconds of the first transmitter) Press and hold the ( I ) button on the additional transmitter.
