My friend has a compustar 6200 with a single button remote. It was in the truck when he bought it and it worked fine. Now the remote stopped working. I tried reprogramming the remote and the parking lights flash twice as they should when programming a remote. But the system does nothing (locks, remote start, no parking light flashes ) it acts like the remote isn't programmed but the system recognizes remote programming.
Any thoughts ?
Thanks in advance Joe

Not a big Compustar user, but, I read where the parking lights should flash once to confirm and two flashes is signaling the end of programming mode. Could be a bad remote or antenna.
I have had a Viper 571 where the remote just quit working. No matter what I tried, would not pair up.
Try a different antenna, if you have one or a different remote.
When all else fails, Read the Instructions

Doesn't quite sound like you are in Valet Mode because the locks should still work. Here is some
more info on Valet Mode and you might try exiting it just to see what happens / changes.
Valet Mode: If your remote start is not working, you may be in Valet Mode. Your parking lights will
also not flash. Your doors will still lock and unlock. To exit Valet Mode, turn the vehicle’s ignition
On and then tap this button 5 times, waiting a second between each tap. Your vehicle will flash the
parking lights twice and exit Valet Mode. You can also exit Valet Mode by turning the ignition On and
then tapping the foot brake 10 times or reprogramming your remote(s).
Soldering is fun!
