hey guys i have a 2004 dodge ram 1500 with the oem dodge remote starter installed but the range is so poor i want to install the 1mile viper 2way remote starter in the truck, i have installed many remote starters but never installed one with a factory remote starter all ready installed, it uses a 2nd one button fob for the remote start, my question is do i have to disable the dodge remote starter or just install the viper as normal and ignore the dodge one ?

sounds like you have an add-on remote from the dealer. I would suggest removing the "OEM" system and installing your aftermarket one.

Don't know if this link will help or not. Might be able to used it to identify parts and components:

If there is an antenna on the windshield or a hood pin, you should be able to follow those wires back to the remote starter.
When all else fails, Read the Instructions
