Hello,

I have a 14.8v 4S LiPo battery. What I would like to do is use this battery to power a 6V LED headlight.

Maybe it's not possible? I don't know.

Is there any way to accomplish this without losing a great deal of the voltage to heat (resistors)?

Maybe some kind of inexpensive, very portable regulator setup?

I'm not sure what your current demands for the light are, but one thing that comes to mind is to modify an automotive (12v) usb phone charger. Just pick one up for cheap at the dollar store. It should put out 5 volts, not 6, and if it doesn't work, you can disassemble the charger and do some reverse engineering to raise the voltage output to a suitable level.

Once you see what components are inside, Google for the datasheet of the main IC so you can see what to modify (if needed). I've done something similar in the past, and it worked out okay for me.

I ordered a DC to DC voltage converter off of ebay for $6.00

Seems like it might work. We'll see.
